#25 - What Canada Really Needs: A NEW and more complete Charter of Rights!

(What Canada Really Needs 1-24)

Canada needs a new and more complete charter of Human Rights, one that actually spells out the basic human rights of each and every Canadian.
Even though we have a charter, it is incomplete, vague, and doesn't actually describe even the basic human rights that need to be afforded to every Canadian citizen.
It also, contrary to the separation of church and state, ascribes a monotheistic "god" to be the top legal entity to which we as Canadians are subject.
So over the next few days I'm going to flesh out what I consider the most basic common human rights that I believe every single Canadian should be able to expect and even demand...

Pariah's list of Basic Human Rights for all Canadians,
(and all human beings on the planet)

Every Human that resides in the dominion of Canada, or is recognized by the Government of Canada as a Canadian citizen shall be accorded the following Rights as a human being at all times:

1. 12 feet by 12 feet of covered space for themselves, their belongings, their pets, regardless of their financial ability to acquire land.
2. an absolute minimum of 2 nutritious meals (ie: a bowl of good soup and some bread) per day regardless of their ability to pay and without requiring them to travel more than 2 miles to acquire this nutrition.
3. Accessible and safe washroom facilities within 1 mile of their living space and shower facilities within 3 miles of their living space, without charges for the use of washrooms or showers.
4. Male, Female, Intersex, Transgender, (and unspecified others) are all the same really, they are people, human beings with rights, feelings and aspirations. Discrimination of anyone due to their genetic or apparent gender is contrary to the concepts of equality which a modern society must embrace. All forms of gender inequality, discrimination, hatred and abuse must be identified and all persons in Canada must have access to protection and recompense through Law.
5. Human beings love other human beings. All adult human beings who love each other in any of the various forms in which physical love manifests must have protection from hatred and discrimination in Law and Society, and redress from such discrimination.
6. Race discrimination
7. All human concepts of spirituality must be held equal within society, with the exception of specific beliefs within a belief system that themselves discriminate or cause harm to others based upon religious belief. Atheism, Polytheism, Monotheism, Agnosticism in all their forms must all have equal protection in Law and Society from religious discrimination and persecution.
Benefits that society bestows upon any one belief system must be applied equally to all Spiritual Belief Systems.
8. All human beings have the right to modify their bodies or minds as they see fit, provided that doing so does not infringe on the rights of others. Society cannot enforce a moral code that limits the internal or external use of jewellry, clothing, body modification, entheogens, knowledge or any other substance or effect provided that the person is choosing of their own accord to experience such modifications or lifestyle without infringing on the basic human rights of another human.
9. All humans in Canada have the right to Universal Childcare which is wholly supported by the taxes that they pay to society.
10. Worker's rights
11. Electoral equality
12. Class discrimination
13. The Right to own land
14. The right to legal representation for ALL legal matters
15. Rights of all Mothers
16. Rights of all Children
17. The rights of people vs. the rights of corporations
18. Right to assemble
19. Right to protest
20. Right to communicate
21. Right to privacy
22. Freedom from blanket surveillance
23. Right to protection and security
24. Right to education
25. Right to medical services
26. Right to celebrate
27. Right to artistic/musical expression within community
28. Right of community spaces

There are a lot, so give me a couple days to flesh them out!!!
After I get them all in I'll try and "legalese" them a bit so they look a bit more like the wishy-washy Charter of Rights we currently have.

In fact, being as I am constantly struggling for survivial, it might take me another year to get this completed, because I want it to be complete.
