Let them eat cake...or smoothies.....

So I'm looking at this weeks Courier mag here in Van
there's some woman (I'll try to get the names and shit later)
anyway, she's going on
about how people shouldn't give to the food bank
because the feeding of the poor is a government responsibility
It is definately a gov't responsiblity
but until everyone is taken care of by a federally regulated social safety net
that pays for actual rent prices and covers bills and food adequately
along with childcare, yes --- UNIVERSAL CHILDCARE

Until then,
we still need food banks.
And yes, it's as she says, as I've said all along,
the food banks make people stand outside for 1-2 hours,
without any cover from the rain and nothing to sit on,which is sick
and the food bank here gives out not enough food for a person
other cities give 2-3 bags per person not one little bag
but then she ends it by saying
"people shouldn't be lining up for free soup in the morning"

"they really want smoothies and seaweed."
?

I don't know what planet she's whisked herself off to
People living outside, a lot of them, actually most
don't want to go to shelters
because the shelters all try to FORCE
complete christian sobriety/prohibition/"rehabilitation"
(brainwashing)
on anyone who is poor

only the rich have the right to drink each night and smoke their cigars,
not the poor
and of course most shelters are actually more dangerous than living under a bush
People get robbed, harassed and raped in gov't housing and shelters ALL THE TIME

Anyway,
I know for a fact that if you walk around a large group of homeless people
offering them a choice
of a banana+apple+orange+juice
or a standard wiener on a piece of super white processed bread
you'll only give out one set of fruit,
and all the wieners and bread will fly out of the bag and into their mouths.
That's reality.

The woman talking lives in gentrified yuppie land
her heart is in the right place maybe
but unlike her assertion in the magazine
the truth is, yes
they would rather have a day old pastry and coffee or soup in the morning
than any smoothie with wheatgrass.
And if no one gives to the food bank
a lot of people will starve.

The fact is, EVERY "community centre" should have free soup every day
for morning and night
for anyone who needs soup
not just homeless
there are lots of people in low income housing
who pay 90% of their living allowance for rent+utilz
and scrape their lives out
with the foodbank, and stuff they scrounge for.
LOTS of single moms along with the single people
and yes
I would prefer soup to a smoothie
Although I think I'd choose the fruit over the wiener
I think my dog is disagreeing with me on that one...

On with the social cleansing!!!
We have a party to prepare for...
Round them up and give them smoothies
lock them up where they have no freedom
the poor have no freedom to drink or smoke or toke
they must accept their fate without joy or distraction
being ground into the Soylent Green we'll feed the workers
like the offings we've ground into wieners
