Go to the hospital when you're elderly and you might die from a superbug, because janitorial services are done by a contractor, cleaning is done 1/10 as often as it used to be. The food services are serving up the nutritional equivalent of wieners and jello, again contracted out. MRI machines sit empty at night or night time is sold on the machine to private pet clinics and clinics for the wealthy while wait times grow. But the MRI is provided by a contractor who gets more because there aren't so many of them.
You try to get some help and you get the 3rd degree from nurses and doctors working 18 hours or more, and you spend more time waiting in a room with 20 other people than you ever did since the 40's.
No care card? sorry.
That's fucking bullshit Jack.
If you have a canadian ID that should be all you need. Nobody should be grilling you about an unpaid premium. Turn of all the administrative bullshit and make it so a Canadian can go hassle free to the doctor. That's what TAXES ARE FOR.
Shortage of doctors? Bullshit.
At every medical school let them sign up.
Your medical education paid for by the gov't
You sign a paper that doesn't let you leave Canada for 8 years, and you serve as a doctor/nurse for 10 years in Canada, then go off to the states with your experience and education and make your big wad. 8 years of service to get a free medical education.
Same with nurses and other specialists. We'll pay for it and you won't have any debt. Just stay in Canada for the allotted time.
There wouldn't be any shortage of nurses or doctors then. Even in rural practice.
Offer them tax breaks for staying an additional 4 years over the first 8.
I've got a hell of a lot more to say about this common sense shitfest, but I want to lay out the basic ideas first before I embellish them.
