So here's a couple of good suggestions for our spineless idiot leader The HarperPuppet.
1. I already covered this in a previous post, but SS could buy VANS second hand in bulk and get bulk ICBC insurance. For less than $700 for each person we could get them out of the elements and into a van where at least they are sheltered and can leave their stuff.
2. Why can't we build those little coffin sized crash pads like they got in Japan? Just big enough to sleep in and sit up, they can be the SS specials.
3. Allow people to sleep in all parks at night from 10 pm until 6 am. That's 8 hours, and nobody else is in the park during that time. So just fucking let them already.
4. Allow people to use parkades at night. Make it a huge fine if they litter, and let them sleep in these massive cement structures that are all over, are always empty at night, and many of them are heated to above zero.
5. Allow people to rent their garage to a homeless welfare recipient. They don't have a toilet or shower outside so they'll be fine without, or you could make it that they could rent a garage as long as it has water and a toilet for the welfare rate ($370/month in BC, sick eh?).
6.Require all Shopping carts to be modified so that they can fit a sleeping person and have greater storage capacity and ability to be quickly modified for a power assist module. Instruct Canadian children in the finer points of shopping cart maintenance and shopping cart survival tips to prepare them for being wage slaves under a Conservative Corporate Dictatorship.
7. We could ask the U.N. to help. They gave us shit for the last 5 years over our massive homeless problem which the HarperPuppet gov't has exacerbated to the point of it becoming a major violation of human rights in a "first world" country.
8. We could continue with the HarperPuppet plan to use the Soft Kill strategy to kill all Canadian born meatrobots that are not happy with slaving 40+ hours a week for some fat rich bastard fuckwad who can't pay a raise to their employees but can buy a second Hummer, while their slaves toil all day to pay 80% of their earnings to another rich fuckwad landlord because they can't get a loan from the rich fuckwad banker to get a mortgage on an overpriced house that's ballooned in cost because of being flipped a dozen times by some other rich fuckwads..
9. Let the CIA just shoot all our dissidents in broad daylight. Its actually more effective since everyone can see the brain matter, so no one will dissent anymore. Nobody sees the results of the slow burning and soft - kill, so lets just wack em all.Or we could just let our cops use the same torture techniques they use in those "horrible heathen Muslim enclaves". It wouldn't take much, they already get massive paramilitary training to go with their Dummies text on "diversity", "racial/cultural bias" and "tension diffusion". Then they won't have to kill anyone outside of the job to get their gang colors.
10. And of course, as I've said before, a crew of non-union casual laborers can take any empty warehouse in the DTES, or anywhere in Van, and convert it into 10x15 cubicles for less than the cost of one Olympic Village Condo after the public servant who buys it resells it....

When the cities turned against their people
they stopped attracting them to their centres to live
and instead
began to push them out
in
fractions
of
buy-laws
they were displaced
the rows of covered benches
picnic tables
gazebos
stripped away
to leave no shelter for the poorest
public spaces
with "no loitering" signs
no place to sit and eat and dream
the benches once faced each other in little groups
now they are all spread apart
divided
facing away from the sun
cold wet metal
where once was covered aged wood
People used to sit in parks
for hours
even on cold days
but no seated place now has any shield for wind
or rain
to sit and think
watching the sea
we would sit for hours
and still we do
but there are less of us
and the shivering makes us leave soon
The parks are ringed with community images
of people playing drums and instruments
communicating
but drums bring complaints and police
in a very short time here
When the cities turned against their people
you needed a permit to gather, or even play for change
The accountant has no need for rolling stones
the manager sees no profit
in a slide lick harmonica squeel
the City itself
would rather feel
the screech of a bus braking
hisssss.

spectacles for those with hundreds to spare
is assured in perpetuity
while a human rat
scurries around corners
searching for an awning that sticks out

The importance of "Telling Stories"...
So I had a couple people I know
accuse me of "Telling Stories"
as in "lying" or "fabricating"
because of my previous "conspiracy theory" sounding articles son
Human Sacrifice,
Pedophiles,
Sects of Satanist's and OTO and (OMG)Masons running amuck in Vancouver,
Gangs as shock troops,
communities altered by the negative actions of small sects acting within them,
ties between foreign gov'ts and domestic gangs,
actual foreign gov't and "enemies of Canada" intelligence activities permeating our societal infrastructure and underbidding for core infrastructure and personal data sub contracting by corrupted puppet domestic local gov'ts,
the american military/project mockingbird, its very real propaganda effects on our domestic media, news, and culture
and of course,
Robert cooper and the US military"vetted"(backed) "Canadian" SGA production ripping me off my agreed upon creative consultant's fee for the pilot series of SGA.
First off,
You don't have to read it if it's bothering you or causing you ontological dissonance.
Honestly, if you think I'm full of shit, then turn your eyes away and surf to cnn or cbc
nothing will hurt you there. Being an ostrich isn't so bad.
Secondly,
I wait a very long time before adding disturbing things to the blog, and I put as much linkage as I can without coming right out and pointing a direct finger, since being vague is the only way to apply free speech in an era of massive litigation. For those with money of course, if you are wronged and have no money there's no litigation. I never wanted to have things like that here, it was supposed to be about spirituality and creative work. I had no choice after what happened.

turning white to an unwitting agent of black
And Fourth, about my claim about consulting with Robert Cooper on SGA:
When something is created, the idea has to come from somewhere.
It's never the money people at the top who come up with the good ideas, its always someone who is paid a lot less who actually comes up with the idea that is reworked by the other various writers and artists(more lower paid schmucks).
Robert Cooper isn't a writer.
He's a rich prick who calls himself a "producer" with a recorder who can rip off other people for ideas, hand the tape over to some other poor schmuck to expand upon it, and he takes the credit and gets all the money, which he scatters a few coins to the real people who did the work.
That's how big american media works, and they're trying to convince everyone that that is just the way it is.
Its for this very same reason that all the best filmmakers in the last 50 years started by making their own films outside of the ripoff L.A. system, which SGA is run from.
The only reason the stargate franchise is made up here is because they can pay people shit, the government gives them money (which they hardly give to REAL canadian productions) and they don't have to pay canadian crews the same residuals they pay to american crews.
I am a writer,
as I have proven over and over here.
I also am specifically a screenwriter,
and I have scripts I recently digitized to post as proof for you to see.
I also study spirituality and mythology seriously,
which is where the the "atlantis" meme resides in our history,
and I have been a hard science fiction fan for about 30 years.
Robert didn't come up with the ideas for the series, other people did and he took the credit and money.
I came up with 7 main ideas that became the core of the SGA pilot series during a consultation with him at Turks Coffee, on the patio, less than a month before he had to pitch his big "atlantis" spinoff from the stargate franchise.
Robert Cooper owns 10 houses in my neighborhood.
He did actually come to see me, made a deal with me, recorded the ideas in the consulting meeting, and then he took that and gave it to his writing team to flesh out.
I'm not delusional or crazy, at all.
I'm a creative writer and thinker who was consulted on a series plot development by a rich producer backed by american money and I haven't been paid my fee.
These things happen, yes, but I do deserve to be paid my fee regardless of how many other stories of ripoffs like mine there are.
There are at LEAST 300 people in my home area of East Vancouver that know R.C. ripped me off. There's even more (mostly IATSE employees and crew from SGA) actively bad mouthing me on his behalf. Not because they are his friends, but because they don't want the guilt of believing that they've been part of a rippoff of a creative artist.
I also need to point out, this is a form of gang theft. It really isn't just Robert, he is acting as the head of a larger group that is backing up his deeds.

Its a mixed up messed up fucked up world and its not going to get better if we all be good little meat robot serfs and shut up while the masters murder and pillage us, or set us against ourselves to do the same.
Everything I have written on this blog is the whole truth,
as I have seen and interpreted the events and assholes in my way
as we all do, in our subjective realities
interpreting the signs and actions of the world.
I'd swear on a bible,
but I don't get the concept of telling "truth"
while holding a book filled with misleading and discriminatory passages
So I simply swear, on myself, its ALL true.

When innocent people or children are murdered or enslaved

when young people are drugged and raped while unconscious
or when a lone person is surrounded by the gang and robbed
shouldn't someone tell that story?
Or maybe we should be good sheep and scurry away watching silently
less the docile community, it's herders, or its masters see us thinking instead of working

if they try to tell you
"he was on drugs and seeing things
he made it all up"

you can give me any drug I have used in my life

So? Was it worth 12 Billion? Now we can cut useless things like childcare, education, libraries...
Was it really worth it?
Time to starve and tighten your belts now.
We got no money for childcare or libraries.
But our cops got $1500 mountainbikes
and brand new $600 tasers.
I live on $1500 total for 6 months.
Yeah, that's right, I scrape by for 6 months on what one of their bikes is worth.
They are nice bikes, to be sure
I'd love one.
But I'd have to sell it to get some HOUSING
which I haven't had for 2 years.
The visiting police got to hang on cruise ships
where the ship employees were paid $200 a month.
$75 million for 3 cruise ships.
For 75 mil they could have bought 2 warehouses and outfitted them like barracks,
and we'd still have those beds afterwards.
Instead we paid for a cop cruise that we can't keep.
I guess they deserve it.
They didn't beat anybody,
and they made sure most of the better activists
were in jail before the olympics came.
They were pleasant and good natured I guess.
We got lotsa camera's everywhere.
Add some function creep to those
and in a couple years they'll get to multiply
None in the rich areas of town though
interesting that...
Another 6 months and real estate
should finally pop its overloaded price point.
All those security guards can go back to being out of work
Too bad.
It really ups any lower class schmuck's life
to have a uniform, with badges, and a big flashlight.
Easiest way to make a serf feel special
let them lord it over the other serfs.
I guess the hockey was great.
I'm not brainwashed into the hockey cult
so I can't really say.
I don't think that one game was worth 12 billion
and nobody really is talking about anything else that went on.
It wasn't worth it for me.
Did you have a great time with it?
I spent the whole time scrounging for some food to eat and trying to keep dry.

so stick to koolaid.

Some nice audio flowers for thee...
I've posted some lists of influential books and other media in a couple previous posts recently
but they were on topics and had mostly gritty "message" or allegorical content.
So here's a list of stuff that's just great but mellow, or pretty, or about "love".

Blogger vs. Wordpress - and Wordpress is the winner!!
I just realized, after checking my analytics and stats
that my wordpress version of the blog
is getting 10 times the traffic of this Blogger blog.
Which is funny, since the Blogger version of "Nobody ever listens to me anyway" has been around at least 2 years longer, and I haven't even marketed the wordpress one.
I'm in the process of switching my marketing materials to point to the wordpress blog,
and after that I will probably focus on spiffing up the wordpress one.

So, we've all seen The Matrix.
Some of us have learned to unplug from the lies and illusions and distractions,
where they tell us we can all succeed if we work harder,
or pay for more "education"(which is really just credentialism run amuck)
when really you only succeed if you join a pirate gang like the masons/catholics/etc.
Being a good serf will never get you anywhere
and if it does, the Pirates will take it unless you're a loyal peon.

are metaphorically representing Control, Assimilation, Gov't, Authority,
and basically a human form/face of the CIA/Military agent

when we look at it closely,
how do we recognize Agent Smith when we see him?
He can be anyone, anywhere, within limits
anyone fully plugged in and happy with the matrix' illusions
can become an Agent at any time

I bring this up because someone was trying to tell me that there are no CIA operations in Canada,
that the administration of our Canadian Medical Records by a company situated a few miles from CIA headquarters was just a coincidence, and that the Americans are our friendly brothers with no ill intent.
That the SPP was completely benign.
That the CIA getting all gov't records and data on every Canadian citizen given to them by our minority Prime Minister is somehow a "good" thing that will make us "safer".
So I asked him what an agent looks like.
Does an Agent of Amerika look like Agent Smith? The Men in Black?
No.
They look like students, housewives, film producers, union laymen, even hippies and homeless people
In fact it's standard practice for agents in espionage/intelligence to take positions as whores.
Anything for their country at the expense of the target nation.
We are, with our oil, water, wood, uranium, and land, we are the target nation.

Olympic conversations, and spectators needing BC Bud!
woman #1: I thought this Olympics thing would be a good thing, it would help business amd the economy. But I don't know, all this money, the traffic, the hassle, all these police.
Me: Its a $5 billion party for rich people from other countries. Nobody I know can afford a ticket to anything in whistler, never mind the cost of accommodations. American colonialism in action, 6000 American troops on Canadian soil.
Woman #1: I know, it's disturbing, and it's impossible to find a place to rent right now, for anybody.
Woman #2: I'm more concerned about the possible terrorist attacks, its only olympic stuff that's bringing that possibility
Me: I guarantee you, if anything gets blown up, the person responsible was CIA or set up by the CIA. They WANT something to blow up, so they can import more troops.

BC Healthcare medical records and services managed from the states.

Showdown: Poverty "Services" vs. The LIVING Wage
Living Wage vs Poverty
I'm working on a comparison between the costs that are "spent on the poor" for "poverty services" vs. the amount that people in the bottom of Canada would consume if they were actually given a LIVING WAGE for Social Services like intelligent countries such as Sweden have adopted. We as a society pay over 4 times as much to poverty "service providers" who are run by American corporations/Canadian organized crime syndicates/Christian money laundering religious organizations or combinations thereof than we do to the actual recipients of Social Services/Pensions/Disability.
We waste massive amounts on trying to police their lives for rent/cohabitation/schooling/under the table crapwork so we can instill the fear of "cutting them off", force them to either walk (often with debilitating conditions)for MILES to fulfill various "fence hopping" obligations or pay out of their minuscule living pittance for their own privatized transit pass, gouge them for telephones that are basically printing free money, and then import people as "refugees", most of whom are NOT(ie: they are actually rich fucks in their own country, they are using the "refugee" process to jump the queu), and give THEM a LIVING WAGE of $1800/mo.
When the poor and other non-conformists we drive into the ground complain, we transplant them to the furthest suburbs, incarcerate them in institutions of misery, lock them up for stealing to survive or escaping with substances, and then give little hand slaps to participants in GOVERNMENT corruption, white collar crime, and out of line white supremacist law enforcement agencies that have criminal moles riddled throughout their ranks.
While the government and it's organised crime buddies shovel billions of dollars into their pockets that we paid into the system with our taxes, and then points their filthy fingers at the poorest of us and tries to blame us for their bloodsucking piracy.
Billions are spent on poverty services, while not even a single full billion is paid directly to welfare recipients Canada-wide.
The comparison will shock you, really, the amount that's being siphoned.
Give the poor themselves the money, they'll be healthier, they won't need these idiot service providers that do basically nothing but shovel them around back and for and pocket the money.
The economy will still win, because the poor will SPEND the money on products and services from other Canadians!
People that want more will work and get more, once you raise the SLAVERY that Canada touts as a minimum wage to something respectable like $15, and make PROFIT SHARING MANDATORY in all publicly traded companies.
At the highest levels of Canadian government, medicine, law, culture, the news, we are being manipulated and directed by thousands of lackeys of the American "Intelligence" system, and the big money of criminals, yet we can't seem to see that the same techniques are being applied here as in other countries victimized by American COLONIALISM.
All throughout the government, media, banking, security, and other sensitive essential institutions we have American sympathizers and bootlickers passing info south and manipulating policy to keep us ensalved and neutered and mindfucked.
While I'm at it, check this book out called "Mind Control", it has some fantastic quotes in it and gives a truly frightening account of how psychology is being used today to burn people the way the inquisition and priesthood used to operate. Don't want to conform and slave quietly? We'll drug you into a stupor, pharmaceutically lobotomize you, or lock you up in an institution so we can pay our friends who run the institution 4 times as much as we'd pay for you alone to live. It's important that you conform NOW.....or we'll grind you up into soylent green and make a profit off selling you as protein bars....

after Beltane was over, and someone invisible had "gone"
I had just written my article.

So, late May, 2009
I was in the sauna at Britannia.
Standing there, in the men's sauna
naked, drying off from a shower
I had only been in the facility about 20 minutes
It was about 9 am.
This guy pops into the sauna and sits himself down on the top bench
In his shoes, summer shorts and shades.
It's very dark in the sauna FYI
and no one ever wears their shoes
It's bad manners to wear outdoor footwear
you get the lower bench dirty
and its a sauna, its hot
you leave your shoes outside
But he really wasn't there for a sauna
I heard the outside door
he came right in
sat down in there
he came to see ME.
He made a couple of huge coke sniffs
like he'd just horked a huge line
and kept sniffing like that through the next five minutes
in his shades
all jittery and twitchy
as he spoke directly to me
while looking off and away from me
at the wall
I'd seen him before,
with some of the vultures
playing their game
too drunk to play the guitar as I recall
poorly played blues
So he says to me
out of the blue
a stranger in the sauna
"I like funerals
so what do I care
if some fucking loser dies eh?
One less loser"
sniff...sniff...
I check out his physique
he's obviously a possible enemy
so I assess
with my bare feet against his sneakers
I feel I could reasonably defend myself
or kill him if necessary
He continues
"You go to a funeral
everyone's crying
someone's dead
everyone sees them become a light
they're all upset
they become lights too.
Funeral's can be really good for people"
sniff...sniff
I'm thinking by this point I wish I had some of that coke.

I smoke pot, drink beer and wine, do small amounts of cocaine a couple times a year,

I never was a "crackhead" or "methhead" or anything other than a bit of a pothead,
and I don't believe my use was anything ever than normal under the circumstances of my life.
If they tell you I did something evil to innocents,
children or animals, it is a lie. I have never done such a thing, I find the harming of innocents abhorrent.
If they tell you I died from smoking, it is a lie.
I had scans of my body done, no cancer was found,
if I die of cancer it is because of the 3 or more times I have been poisoned.
If they tell you I committed suicide, it is a lie
I will stand against them until I have no more strength
And as I die from the wounds of battle
I will tie myself to a pole and lash my head to it

350 cops crossing the line...and no real action...
So the Vancouver Metro
the voice of American propoganda in our daily programming
tells us that 350 complaints against police had possible truth and minimal repercussions
If there was proper yearly screening and psych testing of police
how much of that would happen?
If every officer had proper micro visual and audio recording attached to them
how many more would there be?
and how many would be contested by police union lawyers?
Every officer that crosses the line from public servant to bully or lawbreaker
brings down our trust in all of them
pay them more, and completely screen out the badasses
that's what I suggest

Don't like the man? Attack his dog if character assasination doesn't work...
So Animal control tried to steal my dog from outside the welfare office yesterday.
The nasty woman told me
"It's illegal to leave your dog tied up outside somewhere in Vancouver"
I've heard of them using this before on welfare people
they troll the offices on check day and snag peoples dogs
people who can't afford to pay a pound fee
creating misery
But this wasn't check day
and later an acquaintance told me
the police had been calling the shelters
looking for me
telling them I was unfit to care for my dog
unable to feed her and stuff.
Not true.
She's fed fine
and she grew up in Alberta
so she's used to much colder weather than this.
I tracked down that dick the other day
appears he was a parks maintenance guy
they have a yard at grant and mclean
Most parks people have been very kind to me and Koala
since crappy shit doesn't happen in parks that I sleep in
It dissipates
but they need something else to try I guess
to burn me
and they certainly have the money
anyway
I swear they are going to try
anything to arrest me
because like I said before
the cop who beat me up last year
was a paid setup
so now they can arrest me for any tiny excuse
and put me in jail for a year
and I'll likely get killed there
The U.S. Military has free reign here now

Gay bashing in Vancouver - The solution is really simple
So this morning I walked into a setup
I must have hit a nerve with my last post
I was walking my dog
and a "dude"
a chunky guy with a bald head and black jacket, black toque
comes up behind me
says 3 times
"your a fucking ugly fag walkin your dog...that's what you are"
then he runs off
I could smell a setup, so I needed to see where he went and
I needed a better shot at what he looked like
I pop down the hill and catch up with him at gravely near mclean
by this time he's got a black and red cap
and a tan jacket with red on the sleeves and black trim
and he's stuffing his black jacket into his bag
Not something a random "you faggot" attack would have in it,
the quick change of jacket in a pack only big enough for a jacket
I couldn't grab him because of my bad knee
I was loping down a hill
but I got a great look at his face
and could pick him out anywhere
I don't really think I'm that "ugly"
and I don't really self identify with "fag"
but I guess that would be too much semantics
for a meathead like that
funny how he ran from the "fag"
so on my way back to the drive
I watch 3 coastal health vehicles drive by or parked on the way
and walk by a woman seated in a car filling out a family services form
watching come up the hill

The Mayor of Vancouver doesn't really give a shit
the rich white male elites in Van are complicit
they want those condos in the DT core cleared of fags
so rich straight folk can move in
So what the great majority of "fags" and queers need to do
is make a few setups of their own
send a couple of really obvious queers
walking about hand in hand
and have "straight looking" tough queers shadow them from a distance
let the shitheads beat the ladyboys/lezzies/trannies
for a minute or so
then descend on them and fuck them up
(give the bait people some light kevlar and lotsa cocktails after!)

Solstice musings...the definition of evil and complicity in silence...
I really dig those "today in history" things on the wikipedia
The end of prohibition in America
And even creepier, a papal "bull" to allow witches to be prosecuted in Germany
Its time once again to reconsider this Christian-biased prohibition for recreational drugs.
Each person's body is their own, and everyone should have a choice about what they wish to knowingly ingest to alter their personal experience.
The only things that should be illegal is things that are tasteless and knock people out, things that can be used to drug or kill other people unknowingly.
The Burnings and Inquisition never really ended
"They" just turned to the Soft-Kill, something I'm going to go on about in a future article

I find it funny how many herbalist witches go on about the "evils" of pot and alchohol,

and combined is more than a couple drinks in entheogenic power...
Or some "clean freak" blabbing on about my beer
while they swill coffee by the pot, pop their ritalin and prozac,
and gobble tylenols by the bottle, wellbutrin and pharmaceutical opiates

I just spoke to a young woman, a very intelligent one,
who stated emphatically that she didn't think someone
using GHB to render someone else unconscious for sex
was actually "evil" or even "bad".
She actually didn't think anything in and of itself was "bad".
I've never liked Crowley's whole "everything is permitted" schtick
that he got from Persia through his masonic readings.
There are most definitely limits and there definitely are things that are evil.
An adult having sex with a 5 year old would be evil IMHO.
Christian Priests may have done it many times,
but I still consider it evil in my world view.
How about violent rape, or any rape. It's evil isn't it?
What about Female Genital Mutilation?
Is that an ambiguous one?
Its bad or even "evil" to our culture
but on its way to being performed clinically shortly after birth
just like circumcision
in some parts of the world...
Evil isn't really defined in a book for us,
we have to define it ourselves
and our cultural bias figures prominently
Its a subjective moral judgement
based on experience and cultural environment
and the sect the perciever belongs to
figures prominently in its definition
Morality comes from within, not from any external entity,
so when we draw lines, we have to have rational justifications for them.
We create our own morality
or we accept the definitions given us by our herd/sect leaders
Otherwise it's everyone for themselves and no one can really be safe because anyone can take anything from anyone for any reason. Does that really work?

but is everyone just meat for larger carnivores than themselves?

The irony of the Harperpuppet's bullshit....

"Harper refused to attend the Beijing Olympics and declared that human rights should not be sacrificed upon the altar of "the almighty dollar."
I guess sucking Obama's dick while Bushy sticks his little willy up his ass has changed Harper's mind about a few things...he's wishing they'd trade place to make it feel better...
Human Rights abuses in Canada:
The government in Canada has blacked out reams of evidence showing we knowingly gave prisoner's to other agencies involved in torture, queers across Canada have had their gathering spots and nightclubs shutdown, hate crimes have increased exponentially against visible minorities and queers during his reign but are not reported as such by attending officers and nobody ever gets charged with any hate crimes really in 20 years of the law being around. His government pays out half a billion to each province to end homelessness, and instead of giving the poor on social services enough money to actually rent a place, the money is given to faith based organizations with crime links to fill their contractor buddies pockets while the poor freeze and starve and can't get any job retraining. Billions taken from the EI "surplus" that we all paid for and now that the economy has tanked (been brought down) nobody can get any job retraining funding. All our major TV and Newspapers have been owned by a single corporation for the last 10 years, again with crime links, and now Canadian media is owned by the very bank that engineered the world financial "crisis". Forced relocations, gangs being used as shock troops against "unwanted minorities", blatant oppression of pagan and atheist spiritual groups who are not allowed to have church-like centres to gather, food lines that are so filled with violent people that starving women, elderly, children, queers can't go to them, the possibility that at any time the unregulated poverty services system will be used like those proverbial blankets to poison the unwanted scum that gather there, the ever growing popularity of the soft kill in Canada...a Canada made more corrupt and undemocratic every day that the Harperpuppet acts as our Dick of State, where only 20% of the population elect our PM...
Now that Bushies gone Obama's using both hands on the puppet strings, so it ain't his hand up Harper's ass...look at that huge shit eating grin on the Harperpuppet face.

The divide between welfare rates and rent...
Here's a tip for you journalist types to search on...
Welfare keeps track of what people are paying for rooms, they have rental forms for each "client"
With a Freedom of Information request someone could compare what people ARE paying
and compare it with the $375 they are allotted
to see what percentage of Social Services recipients are paying part of their rent with their already ludicrous food/clothing/util amount of $230...
I bet it's over 70% of them! Happy hunting!
If we just gave people the whole $605 we could probably eliminate homelessness for the Olympics without these purges. The Social Services rental form is a huge stigma here. I've been turned down for a dozen rooms because of that damned form. Everything's great until they see it, then it's over! Those forms also make it almost impossible for 4 people on welfare to get a house or flat, because no landlord wants to fill out 4 forms for a rental.
I apply for over 30 jobs a week, every week. You can't "take any job" if one isn't offered or if you can't afford transit for one far away. Why aren't we giving these people bus passes? But that's another article entirely...
BC just spent 13 MILLION on a single shelter for 55 people in LANGLEY. That's almost as much as they pay out to all the recipients in the lower mainland in a year, for 55 fucking beds in bumfuck nowhere...They'll find lots of jobs out there...but at least we won't see them in vancouver. Sounds like a CAMP.
Another lucrative construction contract for someone's buds, instead of paying the poor a liveable rate...
"In 2009-10, B.C.’s budget for social housing is approximately $450 million, more than three times as much as in 2001."
So why not spend a couple million raising the rates and getting rid of the forms that are screwing people so badly, stop asking for receipts at all and give recipients a flat rate that's higher than it is, and spend these millions on properties that already exist like in-vancouver warehouses that can be divided cheaply into HUNDREDS of 12x12 units, instead of building brand new buildings that house FAITH-BASED business entities.
The actual people on welfare cost us only about $20-$25 million per year for all of them.
Raise their fucking rent rates to something reasonable and you won't even have to build these fucking money sinks that you'll tear down in 20 years.
And while you're at it, give landowners a tax break for every welfare recipient they have as a tenant!
