The Writers

The Writers
-C. Taylor

Oh, how they fear us,
The Big Men,
The Dogs.

We are the tiny flea,

too srnall for them to bite,

underneath
their collar.

Our words reach all the other tiny ones
bringing them together in thought
focusing their tiny voices until
millions strong,
the voices make

a shout

In many countries they kill us
for our words
and here,
though they do not kill
they investigate

Find this flea
who dares to speak

the truths we would bury!"

They roar

...and the policemen nod their heads
and scurry...

And even though

we believe we are free

many are silenced,

silently.

"Ah ha! We have found one!
Take his food
and house
and he will shut up

while he scavenges about

searching for scraps"

We fleas are hard to kill, though.
We remember our hard lives,
and we speak to one another,
passing along
the Words.

Many times
we have hid the Words
amongst piles of others
changing their forms slightly,
to disguise them
so that only other fleas can find them.

Sometimes the Dogs themselves
like the piles of words

in their pretty sentences

and pay to buy them,

but their lives being easy,

and their pride hard,

they pass by the well hidden truths.

Many are killed, jailed, blackballed, disgraced
these tiny flea-philosophers,
but another always takes their post,
and the words themselves,

the Truths

refuse to die.

The Poets and Artists

The Poets and Artists

-C. Taylor

Poets and artists
are dying unnoticed here

Walk by them

the grass sprouts
from their dead eyes and mouths,
curls up through their fingers,
their minds numbed
by hunger and homelessness
their wondrous talents unused

They are not wanted here,
in fact

the giant buildings and machines,
our true masters,
would crush them in the womb
and will
When the troublesome genes that make them think
are found

and numbered

Masters do not want thinkers

talking and painting

of the unjust status quo.

walk by their dead bodies!

Before you are seen in your weeping.

Cineworks Independent Film Society Steals from Members!!! The ripoff society that Canada has created....

Someone asked what BT meant in "the small great book of atheist spirituality"

BT stands for Body Text, meaning I have a lot more to say there.

So why haven't I finished these things?
Basically, I'm homeless in vancouver right now and I am playing my guitar to feed me and my dog.

I have these books pretty much finished in my head, but why would I complete them?
I'll only get ripped off.

Like Neitsche, van gogh, orwell, coleridge, jonathan swift, P.K. Dyck, the list is HUGE.
I'll be broke my whole life, and after I'm dead some already rich fucker will make a wad of cash.
that's the way it's worked for centuries, and in Canada it's a constant for artists, writers and other creatives.

My first film I wrote was stolen by Cineworks Independent Film Society in Vancouver.

They got funding from Canada Council, Telefilm, and BBC channel 4!!!
Took my script off the mac I had typed it on at Cineworks while I was a member,
and got a good wad of money to make the production.
Money that I could have used to make my film and get my film career started

I wrote it in 1988, and in 1994 I was watching my stolen film on Bravo Showcase.
The guy who stole it was Director of the society at the time,
and Mina Shum, darling of the Canadian film scene
was sitting right there beside him, smirking, when he talked to me about my film.

My spidey sense went off when he seemed to know more about my film than I had ever told him. They get public money every year from a number of government agencies,
and I would bet I'm not the only filmmaker Cineworks ripped a film off of.

That's why there are no real Canadian films. The creatives just get ripped off by the money people so they give up.

That and the fact that "Canadian" TV series that are made in canada today are all produced by Americans in Canada. Everyone at the top is an American, but because the crew is Canadian, they can call it Canadian and suck up the money from government troughs. Read more about cointelpro and you'll see the past history of film productions being used to subvert any grassroots filmmaking in countries around the world where the US has interests. That's why every "Canadian" drama production today is full of "RAH RAH USA, YES SIR!!!" military and cop bullshit.

Fuck it.
When I start making a decent living in this world, I'll commit the rest of my books to writing and start painting again.
Till then, fill in the blanks yourself.
I need a house and car and laptop like everyone else.
Blogging at the library is bullshit.

The Order of the MEEK was designed so that reading the table of contents would lead someone in the direction of spiritual growth. What's currently there is basically the TOC, but there is definately text for each section. I won't write it all down until I'm certain I'll make something off it myself.

excuse me for being bitter, but that's what happens when a group of people targets and tries to kill you in your own house for being born with nonstandard anatomy.
They don't like people like that here.
The police would rather shoot you for being a mutant or take you to a mental health institution for "assessment" rather than take you seriously.
Sort of like those crazy whores gone "missing" at the pig farm, who cares eh?
So you lose your house and belongings to the fuckers who try to do you in.
Your only choice is to leave all your stuff, or risk going to jail for killing the fuckers who try to beat you. If I had enough money to keep my dog safe and get some gear, I'd take care of it myself.

All my paintings, years of work - gone.
5000 albums of music collected over the years - gone
Nowhere to live and drained of all my savings from the experience
As if I saved much living hand to mouth in Canada the last 40 years
underprivileged, underclass, underpaid, with no credit and no opportunity worth having
Working at Stargate didn't pay enough to live in vancouver, never mind save for emergencies or move to get away from evil assholes.

All that and I can't get to the other side of town for medical attention that I need immediately.
There's only one clinic that takes vagrants with problems like mine.

Read John Wyndham's "The Chrysalids", it's a real metaphor for modern life and human rights in Canada, and it's set in Canada too. Scream loudly in your mind, perhaps you'll be heard.
Or burned, or sent to the twisted gnarled black wood to die anonymously.

While you're at it, read Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" or "Ape and Essence" if you haven't already read them. It's worth wading through the constant puns for the meat of what he's saying there.

What a shithole Canada is becoming.
There are more people living out of shopping carts than there ever was since the Great Depression.
Legislated poverty is the norm, and minimum wage isn't enough for a single room in any canadian city. Never mind a suite.
Soon they'll make it illegal to be homeless, just like victorian england, just lock them up for life if they don't have a home.

It's been 5 days since I had a shower, so excuse me if I sound bitchy.

Importing workers while local kids can't find jobs...that's the new Canada...

So I'm traveling through the prairies and I stop for coffee.

At that big Canadian tourist attraction and respectable community gathering spot named after the wheelchair kid in Southpark.

Yay Timayyyy!!!!

Actually it's a town so fucking small that's the only coffee option on a sunday, otherwise I'd never visit their overpriced white fluorescent cubicle coffee feed trough.

But caffeine makes us do things we wouldn't normally do sometimes.
Suspiciously similiar to the behaviour of certain drug users, those coffee freaks.
Can't trust 'em I tell ya.

but I digress as usual.

So there in Yee Haw, Central Canada, where there's not a black person in site and I haven't seen a fag, lesbian, or person of color, (most definitely no First Nations) in almost a week,

Is a Ladyboy Philipino with too much mascara serving me coffee.
A very pretty Ladyboy might add. Ahem.

However, he seemed oblivious to his peril. His great peril.
He looked like he just started and I could not see any visible scars or lost teeth.
He was new to this redneck Canadian town.

Outside, standing far from any comfortable seating, smoking while standing around a garbage can, which is the common corner for any (FREE?) Canadian who wants to having a fucking smoke at the same time while they drink their purchased beverage, I had a talk with the senior "barista" while she had her smoke.

It turns out when Timayyys!!! outlets like hers need a new worker or two, they call head office.
And order some new workers.
No sign for local youth is put in the paper.
They just order some new workers.
Who are shipped straight from the Philippines or India,
right to the Timayyys!!! in need.

"Local kids don't want to work for this wage" she says

In MY opinion they should RAISE THE FUCKING WAGE THEN!!!

But our "caring" and "forward thinking" Canadian government wants to make sure we robots won't get decent opportunities, it's more important their rich business owning buddies get the cheapest labour possible, than a Canadian worker getting a decent living wage.

They ship them straight from a third world country and plunk them down, help them get a work visa and give them a place to live. So they can get a worker for $9 instead of raising the starting wage to something that a Canadian kid knows is liveable. There were lot's of young people in that town without a job. LOTS of them.

As far as I know, new immigrants are the poorest wage sector in Canada.
Hmmm. I wonder why.

For over 15 years a "friend" of mine has been exploiting Indonesians and ripping off Canada.
Even before they made it so easy to just hire people right into Canadian jobs she was getting around the labour laws, finding people, getting them over to Canada, setting them up with a place to stay, finding people to "sponsor" them so they could get work visa's.

All that work was worth it to her. So she could pay them $9 an hour (with nurses training I might add) to be caregivers and nannies in Canada.
A staunch Conservative, she was always so proud of herself and how she was "giving them a chance they never would have had" while saving the extra $6 an hour it would take to get a trained Canadian to wipe someone's ass, give them a sponge bath, and take care of their spoiled bratty rich kids.

She was always wondering why she couldn't get me to go to a Conservative party shindig.

In the Okanagan of BC, where unscrupulous fruit orchard owners have tried to rip off workers for years, they import whole plane loads of Mexicans, Russians, Poles...
Who always seem to go home with no money in their pockets after their 2 years here.

This practice of importing workers while the streets are filled with people who can't afford a modern rent on the wages being paid out is so fucking disgusting it makes me want to scream and vomit.

The fat cats that run our gov't are all business owners. Cheap wages for immigrants recruited right from ads in their own country, means Canadians won't complain when they are paid next to nothing.
"You can be replaced with a cheaper import you know"

Canadians are worth nothing to their gov't, regardless of who's in power.

It's just fat pigs at the trough.

What Canada should really be doing in Afghanistan..

So there we are

Protecting American oil interests.
The Caspian sea is rich in oil and gas,
and Afghanistan has been the planned pipeline in US plans for over a decade.

There's hardly any americans there now.
It's Brits and Canucks doing the killing, bombing, parading their might.
Big bad redneck Canadian white boys playing with their tools.
All of them wishing they had bigger, shinier tools
like their American pals.

Canada didn't lose a business tower complex that was the center of new colonialism.
America did.

They (the American CIA) trained the Taliban in guerilla warfare and bomb making!!!!
When the Soviet Union was still communist and the US wanted to make sure Afhghanistan heroin flowed free for use in their CIA operations.
That and the oil, if they could defeat the red giant one day.

They trained the very dogs that bit them so viciously.
The CIA trained the Taliban to blow shit up.

The whole snit has nothing to do with us.

It has NOTHING TO DO WITH US EH!!!!!
Listen up, fellow hosers.

But there we are bombing the shit out of a bunch of rural Muslims.
Some brainwashed redneck in the prairies is cheering the death of "evil towelheads" right now.
Yee Haw.

That's what Stephen Harper is so gleeful about
So intent on
Eradicating Islam
and making the world safe for Christianization
He can feel proud in his church knowing those islamic infidels are seeing his christian might.

He can beam with pride as he prays to the cross he serves...
The cross of "peace and love"

we've got no business being there
we're just serving as U.S. army reserve troops
and taking the heat for it.
While they gloat and feed at the oil trough of Iraq
OPEC smashing was the focus all along
WMD's were a convenient excuse

The only thing Candadian troops should ever have done or still be doing in Afghanistan
is putting a 10 mile perimeter around the Kabul University and its attached hospital
then sending convoys to pick people up who want education, medical aid, emancipation, or sanctuary.

All of our equipment and all of our people should be in that 10 mile perimeter around the university.
Nowhere else. Just protecting and building the university, hospital, housing, and airstrips.

No bombing.
No tank skirmishes.
No hunting down rural peasants and shooting them for having guns and hating foreigners in their country.

That's all we should be doing.
Nothing offensive.
Just defending and building a circular free zone around the university and airport.

We're creating our own enemies there.

Somewhere in Afghanistan is a child, covered in blood.
He's sitting on a rock, looking at his dead mom, his uncles, his aunts, his brothers and sisters.
He doesn't feel liberated.
He's not thanking us for destroying a "Taliban Stronghold".
As the jets fly by he stares at the maple leaf and screams
"One day, when I'm grown, I will make you pay for this"
Then flicks his hand, so his mothers brain matter will fall to the dirt.

We always made fun of our American neighbors,
for being the christian egocentric colonialist bullies of the world.

Now we've joined their gang,
and the world sees us
as bullies too.

The Beginnings of a Golden Dawn......

All their life was spent not in laws, statutes, or rules, but according to their own free will and pleasure. They rose out of their beds when they thought good; they did eat, drink, labour, sleep, when they had a mind to it and were disposed for it. None did awake them, none did offer to constrain them to eat, drink, nor to do any other thing; for so had Gargantua established it. In all their rule and strictest tie of their order there was but this one clause to be observed,

Do What Thou Wilt;
because men that are free, well-born, well-bred, and conversant in honest companies, have naturally an instinct and spur that prompteth them unto virtuous actions, and withdraws them from vice, which is called honour. Those same men, when by base subjection and constraint they are brought under and kept down, turn aside from that noble disposition by which they formerly were inclined to virtue, to shake off and break that bond of servitude wherein they are so tyrannously enslaved; for it is agreeable with the nature of man to long after things forbidden and to desire what is denied us

~Francois Rabelais

A Slowly Dying Canada - (excerpt from "The Butcher's Block")

A Slowly Dying Canada
- C. Taylor

My country, Canada, is falling ill.

it is colder, and a shadow obscures the sun,
A shadow called poverty, the cold of fear.

We fear for our lives now.

Losing our jobs to machines,
robot assembly lines, and computers
do the jobs that thousands
used to do.

It was supposed to be better,
more efficient,

but instead it concentrates
more money
to a smaller few,

while the rest lose their houses and dreams,
the "human cost of downsizing".

My Canada is increasingly
a country of broken hopes,
poverty and futility
creating directionless hostility

We try to hurt others
as if that would heal
our own pain.

Can you blame my brothers ?
They attack immigrants and women
dog eat dog
because there aren't enough jobs
to keep us fed.

We work to survive
hand to mouth

Contentedness is unimaginable

It was getting better for a time,
but the hunger is setting in,
and it will get worse.

They are without hope.

There are no loans for small businesses
The big, old ones are laying off
We are denied credit
or any true way to rebuild it

There are no places for us,
the loose pieces,
to fit

And the government has the the gall
to blame us for being poor

If we speak out,
cry for mercy
they set the police on us

find ways to lock us up
for our small vices.

We are the media scapegoat
mouths bound,
minds whirling

Is it any wonder
that the gangs of youth
are disillutioned
and turning to violence ?

They cannot hope
to own a house
or feed and clothe a child

My Canada is dying
and I cannot stop it's death,
though I may try with my art
to give it hope,

Art is worth nothing

to speak of it's worth is wasted breath

Our artists and craftsmen starve,
our culture dissolves,
and I can only watch,
remembering

Tasered for $2.50...Only in Canada eh?

It takes only 2 years of college to become a cop in Canada.

I've known a few gun loving rednecks who did it.

They weren't the kind of people I like to have "fun" with.

Bad attitudes about women, queers, immigrants.

Easy enough to do. Certainly not rocket science.

There he is now, on the platform.

Saving "PUBLIC TRANSIT"

Can we bold the word "PUBLIC" for this.

Saving the transit authority from poor people, who can't afford $2.50

If they try to flee, they can't afford to be criminalized and fined for the fact that they can't afford $2.50 to travel across this huge city.

If they try to flee, they get tasered.

Zap. Potentially dead of a heart attack. Potential brain damage or body damage from falling and doing the funky chicken on cement.

For $2.50

Over 20 people have been tasered in BC since the police on transit were given tasers.

The toothless native man clutches his el cheapo 6 pack he could barely scrape enough together for. He's trying to get home.

His whole ride on the Skytrain he is in fear.

The poor live in fear. Tasered for $2.50.

The cops are protecting us.
Protecting the profits of Translink.
A private corporation now.
They protect it's profits.

I don't see them, outside the stations, the more remote ones,
where drug dealers and thieves, bullies and belligerent drunks
harass old ladies and follow younger ones home
thoughts of rape filling their heads
Fear of it filling hers

They won't make their quota there, of fare evaders.

To serve and protect
was meant to be about the population
but really
they protect the profits and property
of the rich

a taser should be used on a bully
beating up the weak
not on a poor man running
from a fine

for needing to travel

They've shown us they don't have the self control
to use these weapons

Poor people and their safety don't matter

That's why 26+ whores can disappear into the darkness of a pig farm
because only those with money deserve safety
only those with money can travel
only those with property can sleep under a roof, a covering

while the city is filled with empty buildings
emptied and waiting for years at a time

speculating

on the profits they grow

at night, after the drunks drive away, unhindered by breathalysers
parking lots sit empty
but no one can sleep beneath their cold cement ceilings
because the Lord of the land
must be protected

from the serfs and beggars

So many people worth nothing here

We will zap and maybe kill you for not paying your fare
move along, you cannot sleep here
A fine for you with no money
for you with no ID to show
that you belong here

outside, where we do not care

about the gangsters and bullies
circling there

Massive links to enlightenment....

So last year I did a lot of research into spiritual concepts that I had, as an atheist for many years, neglected to study.

It was a bit mind blowing.

so here it is for your meditative appraisal

Massive links to enlightenment....

Don't drive after looking into the Light....

8P

Intervention Revisited - A new REALITY twist....

So I was thinking some more about that Intervention series

The one I think is using and abusing people for profit without their true consent

I thought of the best twist.

Everyone is gathered around the poor victim, harassing them for their lifestyle, putting down thier individual concept of god, spirituality, sickness...

And then it gets turned around.

Jeff VanVonderen and his crew: Sealed in for 30 days with "Addict"

So the major players of Intervention get locked in a sealed facility with the Addict for 30 days, and they enter naked. They bring nothing. Inside they wear hospital pajamas.

each morning a delivery comes to the center of the room.

They have to order it the day before.

Everything is tabulated. If it's not fruits and veggies and meat, it's a drug.

Great big scoreboards for everyone.

Tylenol, coffee, caffeine drinks, percodans, ritalin,

prescriptions all classified as drugs, any stimulant a drug, cigarettes a drug

No secret doors or delivery slots. No way to smuggle it in up your ass.

How many of his crew would have a completely empty basket each day??

Oh, but I NEED my Ritalin
Oh, but I need my chest steroid inhaler
Oh, but I need my coffee
Oh, but I need some tylenol for my....
Oh, but I need my percodans for that old ..... injury
Oh, but I NEED my SSRI's(antidepressants) for....

I wonder if they all would really make it a month without a flask of scotch, a cigar, an antidepressant, or their coffee.

I bet a lot of them after a few days would be screaming for one thing or another.

I'd take them all on.

and each morning at 8 am the morning philosophy session for 2 hours
and again each evening.

Watching them slowly unravel, till they finally crack
and beg for their coffee or Ritalin.

Or scotch.

It's Hollywood.
There doctors prescribe pills so new that "these aren't drugs"
In a christian mindset where a gram of a plant of nature (marijuana) is a drug
But for some reason, using half a bottle of Tylenol's in a month and drinking 200 cups of coffee,
is not.

I had this long conversation with a roommate once
a total psycho

All superior like she asks what I'm high on.
She didn't even notice until I mentioned I was high.
Before answering, I looked at her.
"what are YOU high on?"
"Nothing, I'm not high on anything...."

Hmmm.
Veins popping popping out of her forehead above her noticeably distended eyes,
blood pressure forcing them out of their sockets....

"Well, I know for a fact that about 2 hours ago you took your horse sized pill of ritalin, 200 mg or so, along with your 200 mg horsepill of Wellbutrin(an SSRI that gives you high blood pressure), and that other pill which is some other kind of psychiatric drug, and you're going to stand there and tell me that my REALITY is altered because I smoked a joint."

"Of course, those aren't drugs, they make me NORMAL" she says

All I could really do is make the Mr. Spock raised eyebrow face.
Each morning she hops up her "reality" to make it "normal".

I took 75 mg of wellbutrin for 3 months about a decade ago. It gave me moods swings that almost killed me, and mixed with a head cold almost caused an encephalitic reaction because of the increased blood pressure.

Psych drugs are drugs, painkillers are drugs. If it alters your mood or feeling it's a drug.
The one label of Drugs is bullshit.

because an eighth of weed is like a case of beer in reality, in our society
yet that eighth of weed is shoved right next to pounds of heroin and coke and called a "drug"

while half the members of our government would get the shakes if you locked them in a room to go cold turkey, screaming for their "meds".

Ahh yes... that book you do go on about...The MEEK

So my WIP of a philosophical/spiritual pamphlet...
Even the outline seems to feel palpable
Some intrinsic measurement
of value or solidity

Designed to be about the size of a Watchtower magazine.
here's a google dox link that'll update

The Order of The MEEK

Someone tried to make me out as an unscientific idiot crackhead...

I really have no interest in crack.
Or crystal meth.

Weed and other plant/fungal based entheogens are enough for me
I revel in watery symbiosis.

Perhaps some might use crack as an entheogenic substance for personal spiritual grease

I'd think it would be sketchy

like trying to meditate on speed

or trying to swim drunk

If we consider different concepts of what a God is

some of these concepts are not antithetical to science

Many alternative non creationist/non Abrahamic concepts of "God"

are not impossible for an Atheist to understand

and even study

"Nirvana" is not a deity, it is a momentary state of being through which we pass in pursuit of understanding

one does not reside there for eternity

Scientists cannot study Zen? or Tao? or Qi?

Once all the scientists in the world spoke of Ether
and would have your eyes poled out
for suggesting the sun as the center of our spinning
Hens, pecking in their Orders
and Hierarchies

Wisdom is based on reason, empirical evidence, observation, wide knowledge.

I take it the crack head comment is meant to be a form of pejorative statement implying lack of scientific method
or perhaps the amount of HEROIN Giger used is a reason to hate the content of his works

Who can find reason, intelligence or aesthetic enlightenment
from the brush of a Junkie.

Who can find the soul in the philosophy of a drunkard
smoking his pipe
in a darkened den
amongst his books and papers

While you scoff
I will take the time to read
the explorations written

Reality can only be ascertained
by geeks surrounded by tubes and wires
calculating the brush of a feather on skin?

Gods are usefull archetypes, tools of our spiritual psychology

As long as we ignore the tales of "Heaven" and"Creation"
We can find true usefulness in their forms

Like brushes are useful
to painters

Pyres and Crosses...

They nailed him up...
one of many

many millions
young men

crucified
purges

There were millions.

Thousands in a day
crucified, beheaded
Burnings

Would he stand on the hill of the killing field of Infidels
With their observations, books, thoughts,
Sight

Would he look upon their bodies and smile?

For some strange reason, madness perhaps,
I think to myself he would weep.

He never was about guilt
Never wanted that for you
would grieve to see you grovelling
confessing Sin

Before the Axe you bow and cry

Tell Him about your Sorrow
He cares not for simple guilts
and Fear

Is it not Life
That you would hear Him speak about

I do not know,
I cannot say

Think of this Being at the center
Speaking
Surrounded by His acolytes
Wanderers

A message of

Acceptance
Peace
Strength
Love
Community

Blown apart we are divided
The Break

We are broken Apart
Become Wanderers again...

He does not want your Suffering
for Guilt, Shame and Fear

The cross on which he hung is NOT his friend
No Ally was he nailed to

Electroshocked minds of happiness
it's so much better now
We have so much to do...
We dance naked in tiny boxes of white
Almost afraid of the fields flocks once roamed
Terrified of dirt,
and the smell of grass

Worshiping the guillotine on which our rebels and heroes have departed...

Screaming
"Truth...
and freedom!"

I will not bow before this Axe
It killed my friend

His Life is the True Story
Not the fairy tales of his Father

Jesus did not point to the sky
He pointed to his centre, and that of the others there
"This is what we seek
Together..."

Not the noose and its tying...
The bullet in its flying
The machete and the pistol
And the Pyre.

The Gods within the Root of Us

what does
Namaste
or
ishta deva
mean?

archetypes/symbolic metaphors
worn
as Masks

The Oracle speaks
we choose
their wisdom
or our own

to pull the Aspect
from the Skein
Or to Weave our Own
In golden filaments
draped across
aroused and breathing
Skin

filled I am
Content
Close as I myself am to you
Is how close we can be
to uniting
even closer
is One for an instant
made of two entwined
and attuned

Breathing together
over Time
We become
One, two entwined
enshrined
released

breathing
Together.....
Entwined...........
over
Time......

The spark of genius needs time and thought to ignite

"Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal."

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing."

"All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded the individual."

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."

"In order to form an immaculate member of a flock of sheep one must, above all, be a sheep."

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence."

"A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeeded be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death."

"...one of the strongest motives that lead men to art and science is escape from everyday life with its painful crudity and hopeless dreariness, from the fetters of one's own ever-shifting desires. A finely tempered nature longs to escape from the personal life into the world of objective perception and thought."

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our
personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

"Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts."

"One had to cram all this stuff into one's mind for the examinations, whether one liked it or not. This coercion had such a deterring effect on me that, after I had passed the final examination, I found the consideration of any scientific problems distasteful to me for an entire year."

Under wandering stars I've grown
By myself but not alone

Was there a Jesus? Of course.

Jewish priests have a habit of keeping track of births, deaths, important events.

It's pretty clear there was an ancient rockstar who liked whores, travelled around with his "crew", and performed for groups of hippies who would come from miles around to see him, until the local feds busted him for some infraction or another so he could be made an example of to all his rebellious fans who weren't singing while they slaved.

Whether or not his name was "jesus" and not "ben" or "joe" is a matter of debate.

Afterwards, like 50+ years later some senile old farts tried to remember what that cool dude said way back when. But they were yuppies now, converted to willing slaves by da man, and anyways, they were so high when they were at that jesus gig that they didn't really pay that much attention beyond the "hey let's everybody love everybody" schtick. Which was pretty cool really, there were lots of hot chicks at every jesus gig. But man they were soooo high.

anyways.

After the pigs beat him to death, the old timer priests he was bitching about all along commissioned some people to write about him, properly domesticated former hippies, and then tacked on that wad of jewish history they'd been shoving down peoples throats for for centuries previously.

Anything too radical was of course left out by the writers working from memory of an event 5 decades previous. You can only rock the boat so much before you are tossed in the drink, as that whole nailed to the cross thing illustrated so well to everyone.

(the old testament has NOTHING to do with Jesus, it is the very thing he was fighting against during his whole speaking tour)

"Intervention" on A&E - Exploitation at its worst

I saw a clip of the "reality" show "Intervention"

How can anyone believe that these people actually signed a release form to be viewed?

It's a complete lie.

They trick these people into signing something,
and in this age of of easy forgeries and copies they try to make use believe that someone has actually agreed to have their life on permanent display.

Weak people. People with problems. People who don't really have bad problems until the tv fuckers screw them over.

Its big money, they need drama.

Someone whose business has run fine for years, but whose family decides that they do too much of something, usually a moralizing bunch of christian fucks who are scumming off the stigmatized "addict" who's doing well, and suddenly the business starts failing, bad things start happening, customers leave, suppliers don't come through.

It's done to these poor people on purpose.

These people did not sign any release, they were tricked.

The drama and crumbling life around them is manufactured by hordes of PA's, actors, producers, paying longtime customers and suppliers to leave, character assasination in the "addicts" local community by paid actors pretending to know them and slandering them.

A neighborhood they've contributed to for years suddenly turns hostile towards them.
They don't understand.
The big secret.
Everyone around them is an actor in the big secret game.

They know something's wrong, but thousands of dollars are being spent to set them up for failure.

They've been doing fine for years, just been ostracised and stigmatized by their evil christian familes, and the very christian interventionists.

I think they should need to have a video affirmation at the very start that completely explains to the "addict"/"subject"/"victim" what's up and what may be involved and the victim should have to state in plain english, "I know that I am on theIntervention TV show."

Because the fact is, they don't know, and people around them are fake people sent to set them up and tear them down, wear them down and cut them up.

It's one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.

And what REALLY pisses me off.....
Do you think the "addicts" that they harass for months on end, undermining, backstabbing and destroying their lives, do you think these victims get paid for their suffering?

The show makes millions, I bet their victims don't see a cent, or get some paltry couple grand.

I wonder if that guy who died actually got cirrhosis from drinking.
In the interests of drama, who's to say these people won't poison their victims drinks. Smokers dying from cancer right near the end of the season, as if on cue, killed by a poisoned cigarette offered to them by a planted actor. Drug addicts getting brain damage from "dirty" drugs, spiked in the interests of ratings by the producers themselves.

You know, I bet they spend half a million screwing these peoples lives up.
Could you imagine how many of these "addicts", marginalized and stigmatized for years, would be able to pick themselves up and start a new life, themselves, with half a mil?

More than half of them, if given the half a mil would be able to get themselves a new live doing what they really want to do, which is why they are probably down anyway, the CHRISTIANS running the intervention and and their christian families all with their expectations and stigmatizations, don't respect the life they really want to lead.

It's the way christians have worked for centuries.

Stone and burn the ones who won't submit to control.

I wonder to myself how many of these people, the victims, are atheists or pagans.
It seems to me "Intervention" has a clear christian bias, and maybe that's it's purpose, to beat down and break down non believers, force them to nothing so they will convert.

Discrimination and exploitation, that's what I see on "Intervention".

Will he survive the Inquisition? Perhaps we should gather wood...

So I just posted my OPUS MAGNUM in progess,

The Small Great Book of Atheist Spirituality.

The Great Book of Atheist Spirituality being a considerably larger piece of research to chew on in my magnificent current economic state.

Too bad nobody ever listens to me anyway.
Who knows?
Maybe some rabid xtian will try to kill me for it.

They do that in Canada you know, kill people for saying what they think.
Canada is full of queer hating, atheist hating, colored folk hating rednecks,
regardless of the fluffy media portrayal of Canada as a place where everyone gets along.
It's BS.
Go to Shittown, Alberta.
Or any other hick Canadian town an hour away from a large city.
Take a look around.
How many black people you see?
You might see some chinese, but usually just a local restaurant owner.
Not a turban in sight.

Yee - Haww

Backwash Canada regularly murders faggots and bull dykes who stray from the city
believing the media lies of a welcoming place where all belong
Murders unsolved for years, and never will be
even tho every hick in town knows who dunnit.
Funny thing is, if JESUS was hitch hiking through Canada,
yes that long haired hippie in sandals, wearing a gown, unshaven, preaching love and acceptance
Jesus himself would get the shit kicked out of him anywhere outside a major canadian city.
He would. He'd get fucking murdered.
And no one would know.

The cops would stand there and go:
"shoulda cut his damn hair and put some jeans on, hippie faggot..."

Cointelpro vs. Canadian culture

Ever even heard of Cointelpro?

They try to make it sound like a thing of the past, the old ways.

It's not dead. It never stopped it's activities.

We see so much media from the States that we think we too are protected by Congress.

Any country other than the U.S. is under constant attack from COINTELPRO and it's related program MOCKINGBIRD.

You have no protection.

The aim is total world subservience to U.S. interests.

When we consider the millions of dollars the US has spent in the "Liberation" of Iraq, or more preciseley of Iraq's oil, then the amount of money spent on Cointelpro against Canadian culture is miniscule, but has almost as drastic an effect on our country and its people.

For only a few thousand dollars a year each the CIA can hire right wing hipsters and pay for an army of groovy cool backstabbers to decimate any Canadian artist, organization, or cultural entity that they deem too "radical" or "against U.S. interests in the region"

The "Church" committee and its investigations only extend protection to the citizens of the US,
Canada is a valid target.

Canada has always been a target of Cointelpro. The reserves of oil in the Canadian tarsands equal the amount under Iraq. Canadian water is shipped down south by the millions of litres while the communities served by those water supplies experience water shortages.

Feminize whole provinces with estrogen tainted water made by subsidiaries of U.S. corporations, after scaring everyone into bottled water by allowing public waterworks to to degrade.

Some crazy revolutionary poet or artist wants to rail against the system,
surround them with CIA hipsters, there are at least a thousand in every Canadian city
Character assassination and dirty gossip are as good as bullets, paid officials in Canada's arts community make sure nothing radical gets funding.

Take a look...
Lots of queer, feminist, world poverty stories and poems.

You don't see any radical left poets or authors printed in Canada.
Do you believe there aren't any?

In poetry slams across the country, the content we hear, is never the content we see.

It's Cointelpro vs. Canadian culture

Rituals of Spring

Wondering again how much a whisper on the web
An idea crosses
The Skein
Minds interlink in Rituals of Spring
Old fears cleansed to become Skyclad
Naked is how we are in Mind
In the Glade

For many years I've been writing and painting.
Canada doesn't seem to be working for me.
The cultural dissolution and suppression
Sicken me

They throw their children to the Blizzard
Become whores for rich old men
love for money
for harder drugs to forget the cold
The Blizzard takes them
The Unwanted Ones
Always so young cast away

In the spring we find them
Pig farms, ditches and fields
As the earth tries to heal
Beneath its sorrow

These foolish monkeys need to grow
And I have almost lost Hope
That they ever could have done so

The Culling

Fear. All over the news. Constantly.
Movies and TV. Commandos and assassins, rah rah military man.
How many people do we watch killed on tv before we're 20 years old?
Hunting down aliens and nazis in the underground secret bunker tunnels we plaster them all over the walls with the secret super rail gun. Disarm the devious slicer trap. Get the passcode.
After commanding my RTS domain and keeping out the armed invaders, I ramble.
Dazed, pondering the culling. My friend wanders along his usual topics of secret societies and groups of puppet masters filling their pockets with the sweat of underlings while devising the control of the emerging world.
The culling he says. A big epidemic. The rich will have medicine quickly and everyone else will be fucked. Fucked over by the theoretical concept of pure capitalism.

Because to be effective and keep the population healthy medical aid can't be a profit generator.
As soon as it is, then some will have medicine and some won't. The poor will lose their savings and land to richer folk who can afford to stay healthy.
A lot of people are profiting on the misery of others.

So back to the culling.
Maybe that should be capitalized. The Culling.
History has shown us quite clearly, on our own continent and around the world, how effective a simple affliction can be in retarding the progress of someone who’s living on land that you want.
The ownership of land is a pretty common motivation in historical records of human conflict and atrocity.
So my friends keeps on about the puppet masters and secret societies, the rich and powerful and how they’re obsessed with control, because this system isn’t stable either, and whoever’s in power over the next 20 years will gain the means through technology, weaponry, and surveillance, to maintain their control over the population indefinitely.

By filling us with fear. By telling us it costs too much to have an industry wide comprehensive Mad Cow screening process. It will cost too much to have nationwide vaccines available free for everybody for the next epidemic.
Hmm. I bet the expenses incurred by our politicians in limousine service, catering, and convention/meeting costs alone would pay for every man woman and child getting vaccinated for free within one week of a true epidemic.

We have the technology. We have the logistical ability.
The stumbling block is simply:
“We can’t give something away for free, especially medicine, do you know how much that costs to make?”

The cost.
Millions of people will die of an epidemic flu or other pathogen within the next 10 – 20 years unless we have a research, manufacturing, and distribution system in place for mass inoculation.
But it’s not going to happen. Not until AFTER there is a big death. It costs money and doesn’t generate profit.
Profit will be the motive for not being prepared.

We live in a world progressing very quickly.
Cloning of a human is already occurring somewhere on this planet. With huge amounts of money behind it, there are numerous private labs in the world right now working on the problem.

My friend continues to tell me that it won’t be a naturally mutated strain that causes the next epidemic. It will be a manipulated strain. Nature’s efficient killer, tweaked in a lab to give it that extra zing. He goes on about the usual suspects. The Culling. The puppet masters, clearing land for vacation properties and profit.

I kind of step back from the conspiracy theories and the specific names and just focus on the main idea,

That we don’t have a free drug manufacture and distribution system, that nature has an epidemic cycle of every hundred years or so, and that cycle is shortened by the ability of people to manipulate nature’s deadly bugs and create new strains.

After everybody’s been cleared away. The rich, who didn’t have delays getting their vaccinations, will play some golf and wait for their replacement body parts and organs to be cloned.

I think I need to go watch some cartoons…

DIY: Movies by anyone.

Hollywood sucks for the most part.

They lament the decline in moviegoers and spend oodles tracking down people who download their content instead of fixing the core problems.

Shitty movies. Remakes of Remakes. General this and sir that and lets blow something up.
Stick it to the Man and get the car chase started. So much fucking crap.

Huge mounds of crap. With a few tiny perls occassionaly scattered throughout.

Almost every mainstream movie has Authority, God, Death represented. Drivel.

Unbelievably expensive prices. Kids expect popcorn and a family movie night passes the $50 mark before you even get to the $3 each of soda and the $20 of popcorn that would cost less than a buck if you were at home. Two adults can easily spend $40 to see a new movie.

High prices for DVD's. $30 - $50 for something that cost less than a buck to produce?

Then they try to squeeze every last drop out of the dvd sales before releasing the film to TV so 3 years later you get to see a movie on the cable you pay $50 for.

I think something cool is about to happen. I honestly think we will see a strong emergence of Machinima this year. Using "The Movies" or the "Half Life 2" editing suite any person with a half decent computer can tell their story.

Circumventing all boundaries to scriptwriting or moviemaking. It may take a couple more years to really catch on but developers are starting to refine their editing and cutscene creation tools to facilitate easier machinima with game tools.

The next cool movie may not be real actors at all. Not even a special effects team. Just one person sitting at a chair anywhere in the world saying their piece.

Noiseman Sound Insect

Noiseman Sound Insect is an anime by Koji Morimoto. There are numerous webpages documenting the production work and crew of this film which a user may find easily through searching. There are no pages currently known that actually describe or seem to understand the subject matter however. The other works of Morimoto have had wide reaching effect within the world of Anime, and his work on the cult film Akira makes an assessment of this far more personal visionary work important.

This is sort of a review, but really it's a viewers guide. I had to watch this film many times before it really clicked on what was happening. It's an addictive piece of film however, and the musical score is fantastic.

Beautiful, dense, lush, and filled with metaphorical content, its actual dialogue is cryptic and sparse. On first viewing it would almost seem to be a music video of a very strange Yoko Kanno song. Except that she mostly makes songs specifically for anime soundtracks, not the other way around.

The work is of course in Japanese, and no english dub has been made, most probably because the music and dialogue are intricately linked. Thankfully the subtitles of the work translate the words of not only the characters but the incidental voices of the soundtrack as well.

Because of the subtlety and complexity of the metaporical content, the language barrier to non-Japanese may make it difficult to see the concepts presented. That is why I have attempted to define 2 of the main concepts presented.

The Story and some of its Meanings

{spoiler alert} This anime is predominately about 2 main concepts, different drugs and the types of people who use them, and different styles of music and the people who associate with them.

Noiseman, the strange squeeky voiced alien antagonist, can be seen as the raver kid down your street. He comes home late with his little sporty car shaking and booming as he fills the peaceful neighborhood's space with his pounding dance music. Noiseman likes Crystals, such as crystal meth, ecstasy, cocaine. Music is almost a weapon to him and he has no regard to his neighbors, he is very selfish and only cares about his Crystals and his noise, he keeps the souls of people captive in his noise machine.

The people of the village mostly love juice, which is analogous to wine and other alchohols. Those who love juice are portrayed as relaxed and fun people, and their music is much more relaxed and human. In fact they actually love simple music that is based on the beauty of human singing. In their pure "soul" form after their escape from Noiseman they are like a choir.

The young people who race around chasing little noises and souls and trying to catch them are at first all about action and speed, but when one of them eats a fruit that flies into his speeder from the lake after a crash he is transported to a new state of mind. The water and the fruit are accompanied by very mellow psychedelic "chill" music. The fruit can be seen as psilocybic mushrooms, or perhaps marijuana, but the hallucinative effects of the fruit are clear and the effect on the young man's mind, making him stop his speeding around and focusing on the watery environment around him clearly represent psychedelic experiences.

When the Noiseman is defeated, the true voice of the people can be heard and they stand in the calm of a natural glade with the sounds of nature while a simple song "Trees make Seeds" about life, birth, death, and life feeding on life plays out.

Ghost in the Shell - the beauty of wiki

I made some wikipedia contributions today to wiki pages that were already going but needed some extra info. I really dig the concept. So here the are:

Ghost in the Shell

{spoiler alert} Another interpretation of the fusion of Kusanagi and the Puppet Master in the film version is more analogous to the concept of Birth where two separate entities create a third entity which is not the same as either of the originating Ghosts/DNA sets but shares common traits. The Puppet Master does not wish to merely save himself from termination, to do so he could simply ask Kusanagi to give him shared space in her memory cores that she could offload later into another robotic receptacle. He quite specifically asks her to fuse her "ghost" or "soul" with his own, a form of marriage/birth in which the resultant being is neither the Puppet Master nor Kusanagi but a new being entirely. This touches upon concepts of birth, immortality through progeny, and the union of two ghosts/people in the creation of progeny.

A very important concept within this work is that evolution is the process of fusing (procreation) two sets of data(DNA) in order to create a 3rd set of data which contains the most vital elements of the original organisms along with some element of chance. the Puppet Master has evolved beyond DNA as a data set and thus to procreate this new organism (a soul not born of dna) a new paradigm of data merging needs to be contemplated for which he has sought Kusanagi out. This is a merger of two operating "souls" or "ghosts" into one mind, which is specifically different than birth while being analogous to it at the same time

Throughout the film the cyborg characters, being more or less a human brain with a manufactured body, contemplate individually and together what being human really is, and how a soul or ghost is truly defined. The Puppet Master is an AI, yet they recognize traits and personality within his mind structure that are clearly analogous to a human soul or ghost image. They cannot discount this similiarity as it is very clearly analysed by their medical scanning tools when they first capture the Puppet Master. The members of Section 9 must re-evaluate their own tenuous hold on the idea of humanity and "I", when faced with a being who clearly is self directed and has a ghost but was originated as a complex program not a DNA organism.

Although purists of Manga may consider the movie to be inferior, distilling 8 manga issues into the length of a feature, it ranks among sci fi fans as a serious pinnacle of speculative fiction in movies.

One of the first Anime features to "cross over" to the sci fi adherents not typically associated or exposed to manga/anime, Ghost in the Shell managed to convert large numbers of sci fi audiences to the possibilities of Anime as an art form, a feat accomplished by only one other anime feature - Akira. Its deep philosophical subject matter, beautiful textures and backdrops, and subsuming of technology to the emotional/spiritual concerns of the individual characters have earned it a place amongst some of the greatest sci fi movies of all time. Many viewers could easily rank Ghost in the Shell as being at the same level of aesthetic excellence as Blade Runner, the first Alien movie, or 2001.

As a side note regarding Oshii's condensation of the manga, consider the dense Philip K. Dick novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" which Blade Runner is based on and see how many of Mr. Dick's many detailed subplots actually make it into the movie.

Oshii's adaptation of the manga is filled with awe inspiring cinematic sequences containing depth, detail, focus and perspective previously unrealized in movie Anime as an art form. The musical score, although perhaps grating at first to western ears, is deep and emotional, and the attention to detail in weather/crowds/technological implementations/etc. is far beyond the simplified action sequences and economical guerilla animation style used by anime features previous to this work.

A second feature, Ghost in the Shell:Innocence has been released by Oshii which places the character of Batou in the lead role. A beautiful film, filled with depth and philosophical ponderings, it is unrelated to the original manga and yet stands alone as an evolution of Anime in film and a definitive sequel to the original film feature. It was a nominee at Cannes in 2004 for best picture.

Added to "Levels - computer gaming"
Map design is now commonly known as "Modding" (Mod_(computer_gaming)) in most games.
Originally "Modding" was a specific term to delineate a "pack" (Pak) of custom user created levels that also included some form of programming to change the abilities/weapons/environmental effects of the core game on which the mod was built. A "Mod" was a more sophisticated customization of the game than a "Map" which was simply a new level or set of levels which could be played within the original game's engine. This distinction has gradually receded and a "mod" can now be simply a map or level with no programming changes to the core game.
Although pure "modding" takes a certain amount of programming ability, to simply create new "levels" for a game a user only needs to access and digest the information and tools available to the modding community for that particular title. Some game titles have advanced support and tools for mapping and modding while others are not open to customization.

NO Dogs on the cafe patio.

Fuck this bugs me.

All across Canada public health inspectors threaten to close down shops everyday because their customers wish to sit outside consuming the products they've purchased with their dog sitting beside them.

If a cafe or bar doesn't force the client to remove the dog from the patio they run the risk of their license for a patio being revoked?

WTF?

Why? Why do we allow these puritanical fuckheads to make sweeping dictates like this? Its not like the dog is dirtier than the cement that the customers chair is sitting on.

In many places in Europe you can actually take your dog inside the cafe.

Our Canadian society is so programmed to listen to these peurile victorian dictates and not complain. Why? Why do we let our local councils pit cafe owners against their clients? I'm out walking my dog. I want to stop for a coffee. My beautiful friendly dog is not allowed on the filthy cement of the patio because of "health regulations"? What?

Its fucking bullshit.

What makes it even more sickening and fucked up is that a cafe owner who is perfectly willing to pay a bit extra for a special permit to allow dogs on their patio can't do it, because there is no such thing.

Sure I can understand that some people are afraid of dogs. But cafe owners should be able to choose if they wish to have a patio where walk by traffic that consists of people who are walking their dogs can sit and consume (the dogs don't seem to be a health hazard walking on the street).

These bullshit puritanical rules everywhere are sick. They don't take into account the realities of modern life.

We live in fucking crappy boxes without enough greenspace, we need pets to keep our sanity in this screwy world. Why the fuck can't we sit and have a coffee with our friend beside us.

People with aids, herpes, gonnorhea, the flu, excema, or just plain bad personal hygiene can walk right into the cafe and sit down. I'm certainly not saying they shouldn't, I'm just saying that the "public health" excuse is just a lazy inspector's way of avoiding the fact that they are enforcing anachronistic puritanical laws that are negatively impacting the lives of good honest people who just want to stop and PURCHASE a local product and enjoy it with their friend.

Its just plain crap.

And while I'm at it, why can't I take a well behaved and non dangerous dog on the bus? I could when I was in Calgary. I paid my fare and a separate one for my dog. They don't have any big problems with it and they get another fare.

Poor people have dogs too. They need to take their friend to the vet, or the pet store, or to the big dogpark across town.

We need to say something when we encounter outdated laws such as these that restrict access or make people feel that they are somehow "bad" for things that are normal in our life.

So why the hell do people make these blog things? Is it sort of like muttering to yourself as you putz about your house in your big fuzzy slippers? I don't imaginge that every day people are going to flock to hear the ramblings of some stranger in a housecoat wandering about talking to their dog as if they understand.

Yes I DO talk to my dog as if she understands english. Heck why not, its supposed to be good for plants, why not puppies too?

But really, with bazillions of home made diarists blogging it up and filling pages and pages of blah blah blah and angst filled personal observations I really have to wonder if anyone really ever reads the damn things.

Or is it more an exhibitionist need of the lonely socially deficit writer themselves, a sort of "write it and they will come" but with delusions of grandeur mixed into the stew of their little observational masturbation. Hard to tell.

I'm gonna have to put a counter or something, I don't think anyone will EVER read this stuff, but I don't really care.

I figured it out you see, nobody ever listens to me anyway, but it really feels good to at least say what I think about stuff. Even if its only my dog that hears it...

;)
